Our current Volunteer Vacancies are outlined below. There is a huge range of ways you can volunteer for Tŷ Hafan, and it really doesn’t matter how much time you give. Every hour is precious and gratefully received.

Our Current Roles:

Online Sales Volunteer (Etsy)

Have you got experience and/or knowledge of, or a keen interest in photography, marketing and online sales? Then we have the role for you!



About the role:

You will be volunteering in our unique crafty workshop, assisting the Handcrafted project manager by photographing and listing items for sale on our Handcrafted by Tŷ Hafan Etsy shop. 

Funds raised from sales go directly towards caring for the entire family. From complimentary therapy treatments for children, to respite care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences.  


Overview

  • The role will be workshop/office based at our HQ in Sully. Laptop provided.
  • Potential opportunity to volunteer remotely after a successful training & trial period

Ideally you will:

  • Be able commit to at least 3 hours a week;
  • Have either knowledge and/or experience of, or an interest in photography and marketing;
  • Be available either a Monday, Wednesday or Friday between the hours of 09.30 and 5pm.

Activities Included

  • Creatively photograph Handcrafted items for sale, capturing good-quality images
  • Draft accurate and attractive item descriptions for listings on Etsy
  • Market research
  • Assist with packaging and preparing items to be sent out to customers

Skills Needed

  • Good photography skills
  • Good written English ability
  • Experience of selling on online marketplaces such as Etsy
  • Researching abilites
  • Good team player and quick learner

Retail Stockroom Volunteer - Adults

We would love to have you on our team!

This opportunity offers a variety of experiences from helping with stock, merchandising and other general activities.    

Whatever time or skills you have to donate, you can make a difference to the lives of life-limited children and their families in Wales, today.

This role will be based at your local Tŷ Hafan charity shop, working as part of a team of volunteers assisting the Shop Manager.  

Our shops are open Monday-Saturday, 9am-5pm and we are entirely grateful for any time you are able to donate; whether that's 2 hours a week, a half day each week or multiple days per week.

Funds raised in our shops go directly towards caring for the entire family, from complimentary therapy treatments for children, to respite care for families, to sibling support activities & experiences. By volunteering, you directly help us to raise vital funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families.

Volunteer Admin / Receptionist

We would love to have you on our team!

We are looking for friendly and experienced volunteers to assist our facilities department, covering our Head Office reception as well as helping out with ad-hoc admin tasks and projects.


Ty Hafan, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX

Over 18's only for insurance reasons

Flexible schedule - at least one morning or afternoon per week (Mon-Fri)


About the role:

This role will take place at our Head Office based in Sully, Penarth. 

You’ll support our facilities team across a wide range of activities, including administration tasks and reception cover. This opportunity would suit someone who is looking to gain valuable office-based experience or someone who has office-based experience and is willing to provide their time to support our charity.


What activities will you be involved in?

• Scanning & filing documents

• Reception cover

• Monitoring e-mails and answering calls, being a first point of contact for visitors

• Any other appropriate ad-hoc administration tasks

No two days are the same!


What type of person are we looking for?

• Flexible with a willingness to learn

• Enthusiastic and engaged team member

• Good communication skills, well organised

• Good accuracy and attention to detail

• Previous reception experience desirable but not mandatory


Information on training provided:

You will be fully briefed by the Tŷ Hafan team and continuous support will be available. We also offer data protection and Safeguarding training.
