Our current Volunteer roles are outlined below. There is a huge range of ways you can volunteer for Tŷ Hafan, and it really doesn’t matter how much time you give. Every hour is precious and gratefully received.

Volunteer Administrator/Receptionist

Are you friendly, enthusiastic, and ready to make a difference?
We're on the lookout for volunteers to join our Reception Team!
As a reception/admin volunteer, you'll be the welcoming face of Tŷ Hafan, tackling a variety of exciting admin tasks and projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable office experience or to share your existing skills, all whilst supporting an important cause.

Considerations:
Location: Ty Hafan Children's Hospice, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX
Hours: Monday AM/PM, Thursday AM/PM, Friday AM/PM
Age requirement: 18+
Background checks: we will ask you to provide us with 2 references and a basic DBS check is required for this role.
This role is perfect for someone who is friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and works well as part of a team.
Confidence speaking on the phone and using the pc/laptop are required for this role.
Activities include:
• Greet visitors and support with signing in and out
• Organise and update files – both paper and digital
• Assist with audits and inventories at Head Office and the Hospice
• Help with project research
• Welcome visitors by covering reception and greeting staff and visitors
• Answer calls and manage the entry barrier
• Assist with other departmental admin tasks if required.

Events Volunteer

Do you love meeting new people and making a difference in your community? Are you looking for a fun and rewarding way to spend your time or use your skills and talents? If so, you might be the perfect person for our Events Volunteer Role!
As a charity, Tŷ Hafan organizes many fundraising events throughout the year and we are also represented at wider fundraising events across our communities.
These events include our very own Family Fun Day, sporting events, community bucket collections in exciting venues, and much more.
These events attract thousands of people who want to support our cause, but we also need people who can help us behind the scenes to make them happen!
That's where you come in..
By volunteering at an event, whether as a one-off or more regularly, you'll help us raise essential funds for children with life-shortening conditions and their families. You'll be making a huge difference.

Age Limit: 16+ (Under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)
Time Commitment: One off, long term, flexible, hours vary with each event
Activities include:
• Event set up
• Event registration
• Bag drop/stall cover
• Encourage, cheer on and motivate event participants

• Bucket collections
• Support staff to deliver a safe event

Administrator (People Services Team - no previous HR experience required)

We’re on the lookout for a friendly and reliable volunteer to join our dynamic People Services Team as an administrator.
This role will be based at our main Head Office in Sully, assisting the People Services Team with a variety of both systems-based and general administration duties.
The People Services Department is made up of 3 functions: HR, Learning and Development and the Volunteering Team.
Considerations:
Location: Ty Hafan, Hayes Road, Sully, CF64 5XX (Head Office)
Age requirement: 18+
Schedule: Flexible between 9am-5pm, Weekdays
Background checks: 2 references and a Basic DBS check
A good level of IT skill is required for this role. An understanding of GDPR is also welcome, however, training will be provided.
We welcome applications from individuals with disabilities. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the informal chat for this role.
Activities include:
• Updating HR systems – including our dual HR/Payroll system, recruitment system and Benefits platform
• Updating employee electronic files
• Updating/amending spread sheets and other information in Excel
• Data input
• Photocopying/filing
• Other ad-hoc administration tasks
Training you will receive:
You will be fully briefed by the Tŷ Hafan team and a full induction will be provided to include:
• Mandatory e-learning to include Safeguarding, Data Protection, Keeping Yourself Safe and Looking After Others
• In-person training to include GDPR
• Ad-hoc role specific training as required – including training on all relevant HR systems.
• All volunteers must complete their mandatory training to continue in their role.

Admin Volunteer - Lottery Team
This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our raffles, which are one of our biggest fundraisers. If you have a keen eye for detail, are I.T. literate, and enjoy being part of a dynamic team, we would love to hear from you!
Conditons:
Age requirement: 18+
Location: At our Head Office in Sully, Vale of Glamorgan
Time commitment: At least 4 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
Role Type: Temporary as and when we hold a raffle; starting as soon as possible for the current raffle.
As a volunteer, you will be involved in various activities depending on your skills and experience, these include:
• Data Entry: Accurately add data to spreadsheets to keep our records up-to-date.
• Cheque Processing: Type up cheque details with precision.
Mail Handling: Open and sort post efficiently.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the lottery team to ensure the seamless execution of our raffles
• Other ad-hoc tasks as needed
