Donate

RSPCA Victoria Op shops rely on your donations of high-quality goods, including:

  • Good quality bric-a-brac and homewares
  • New or pre-loved clothing, handbags, shoes, accessories, jewellery
  • Saleable quality books and pre-loved toys
  • Dvds, Cds and vinyl records
  • Saleable quality sporting goods
  • Furniture- only selected RSPCA Op shops can accept furniture items (please phone 9224 2258 for locations)

Unfortunately we're unable to accept mattresses, pillows, worn underwear, opened toiletries, damaged items (such as chipped glassware and broken furniture) as it costs us money to dispose of unsaleable or broken items.

Volunteer

RSPCA Victoria Op Shops are operated by teams of dedicated volunteers and funds raised go towards supporting RSPCA Victoria's mission to end animal cruelty.

Please join our dedicated Op Shop Volunteer Team as an Op Shop Assistant and assist with the sorting of goods, displaying items for sale and serving customers.

All volunteers are asked to commit to a regular weekly or fortnightly 4-hour shift for a minimum of six months.

Operations

Volunteering in the shelter allows you to work hands on with animals and is incredibly rewarding and inspiring. Prior experience is not essential, but a passion for animal welfare, the desire to work with others and a sense of maturity  is vital.

Some tasks include walking dogs, cleaning pens and enclosures and giving shelter animals some TLC.

These roles are a unique opportunity to make a difference, but they can be physically demanding, can require work outdoors in all weather and can sometimes involve smelly and dirty work!

You might feel emotional about the animals you’re working with and may find this difficult, but ultimately the reward is that you’re making a huge, positive difference to their lives – and yours!

Not all sites are recruiting all the time, so check back regularly to see if your local shelter is recruiting!
