Boise Urban Garden School
The Boise Urban Garden School (BUGS) is a specialized, inquiry-based education organization. We strive to provide students with unique learning experiences by utilizing an organic garden setting. Since our founding, we have been dedicated to providing students with knowledge through “real life” experiences, and each year we serve thousands of local youth and families through a variety of educational programs. We know that a student who is able to dig in the soil, plant a seed, and watch it grow will be excited to eat the fruits of their labor, and will better understand the science behind a sprouting seed or the process of photosynthesis.
If you are a group wanting to volunteer at BUGS, please contact us via email (BUGS@CityofBoise.org) to schedule the volunteering opportunity.
Zoo Boise
Zoo Boise is a service of the City of Boise and is supported by the Friends of Zoo Boise, a 501(c)(3) membership organization that supports Zoo Boise in the area of animal acquisition, capital improvement projects, education programs, volunteer opportunities, and special events. The goal of each of these components is to increase public awareness, knowledge, and appreciation of the zoo, wild animals, animal habitats, species conservation, and the environment.
Zoo Boise is accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA). Look for the AZA logo whenever you visit a zoo or aquarium as your assurance that you are supporting a facility dedicated to providing excellent care for animals, a great experience for you, and a better future for all living things.
