Surrey Art Gallery brings people together through art, ideas, and shared experiences. Our volunteer programs offer opportunities to learn, contribute, participate and connect while supporting exhibitions, events, art classes and school programs. Volunteers help create welcoming and inclusive spaces where communities can engage with art and one another.

How to apply:

• Complete an online application
• Upload 2 written references to your profile
• Once you've uploaded your references, arrange for an interview with our Volunteer Program Coordinator: artsvolunteer@surrey.ca
• After the interview, you may be asked to provide a Police Information Check. Should this be the case, we will provide you with the forms you will need to complete and have processed by the Surrey Police Service.

The Friends of the Forest program brings people together to care for and protect Surrey’s natural spaces. Volunteers work alongside staff and community partners to make a positive impact through activities such as planting native plants, removing invasive species, and taking part in stewardship events.  
 
Whether working hands-on in nature or helping connect the community to the environment, volunteers play an important role in keeping our ecosystems healthy for future generations.

Our volunteer program is currently closed for intake and not accepting new applications at this time. Follow us on Facebook for updates on when the program will reopen!

We currently offer a couple of volunteer intake sessions per year.

The application process is for volunteers is as follows:

• Complete the online application 
• Sign up for & attend a General Information Session (Volunteer Intake Session) 
• Submit two references (forms can be found on the homepage of www.myimpactpage.com under “Files” –> “reference forms”.)
• Complete & Submit Police Information Check

Once those steps are complete you can sign up for a Orientation Session for the shelter program stream you would like to volunteer for: Dogs, Cats, or Small Animals. 

Volunteer Age Statement: Volunteers, who have not reached the age of 18 years, but are 14 years, are permitted to volunteer if their guardian is present at all times. The guardian is responsible for completing the application process and required training along with the minor.
