Community & Environmental Events

Volunteer as a Parks Event Assistant and spend time outdoors, gain valuable experience, meet new people, and earn volunteer hours. Opportunities include Sounds of Summer, Arbor Day, Lights Festival, Park Play Palooza, and more.

One Day Park Projects

Work with other volunteers to beautify our park spaces! Project opportunities include cleanups, fall bulb plantings, weeding and more. These opportunities are a great way to meet new people, learn gardening skills, and earn volunteer hours.

Park Care (Year round)

Become a park steward in your community and help keep litter out of parks! Many of these opportunities have flexible hours to fit with your schedule. 

Park Promotions

Use your photography/media skills to take photos and videos at our park events and programs. 

Play Squad 2017

Play Squad volunteers assist alongside the Park Play team to bring inclusive, outdoor fun to Surrey's Parks! **Now recruiting - Join the team for Summer 2017!**   

Playbox Ambassadors (Year round)

Care for a Playbox to get kids active in our parks! 

School Programs

Lend-a-Hand is a free, hands-on, community based learning opportunity for students to learn about social responsibility and the value of volunteering. Elementary or high school teachers can sign up their class to participate in weekly litter pick-ups at a nearby park. Program includes an in-person workshop facilitated by Parks Staff and clean-up supplies.
