The Support Participation and Inclusion: Reach-out, Involve, and Transform (SPIRIT) Volunteer Program aims to:
- Increase involvement and access for individuals with disabilities in our community in recreation activities
- Offer valuable and rewarding volunteer experience
- Provide opportunities to cultivate personal development and education
- Advocate and foster opportunities for inclusion for all members of our diverse community
Adapted Social Recreation - SPIRIT Volunteer
Volunteer in a supported social recreation program for children with disabilities. Activities include crafts, painting, games in the gymnasium and much more. Learn new skills in communicating visually and verbally to provide the best experience for participants.
Adapted Sports – SPIRIT Volunteer
Volunteer in adapted sports the City of Surrey provides! The sports include boccia, para ice hockey, wheelchair basketball, and power soccer. Learn new physical skills while having fun with trained staff and learning support strategies along the way.
