Nature Work Parties (All ages)
Join others in caring for Surrey's unique urban forest by removing invasive plants and litter from our parks. Everyone is welcome to participate - no experience is required. Tools and training provided.
There are usually 2-4 activities per month throughout the year.

Surrey Nature Centre Day Camp Assistant (14+)
Summer 2026 volunteer opportunities for this role are closed - if you have applied, you will be contacted by a staff member. Next volunteer opportunities will open in February 2027 for spring break volunteering.
Do you enjoy interacting with children? Could you inspire them to love nature? Help Day Camp Leaders with nature games, crafts, outings and other activities at the Surrey Nature Centre.

Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) (Ages 13-18)
Surrey Youth Stewardship Squad (SYSS) is a platform for youth to take action on environmental issues. We restore and enhance our urban forest, advocate for our environment at community events, and grow a community of young leaders who care for nature.
There are usually 2-4 activities per month throughout the year.

Urban Forestry Leader (Ages 18+)
Urban Forestry Leaders lead other volunteers in hands-on park and tree stewardship projects, and host nature activities at environmental events around Surrey.
Receive training in urban ecology, plant identification, ecological restoration, nature interpretation and group instruction and supervision.

Our City Neighbourhood Cleanup (All Ages)
A clean neighbourhood is a happy neighbourhood! Join the Neighbourhood Cleanup program to help keep our city clean and beautiful. You can participate by cleaning up your neighbourhood on your own time, and by joining group cleanups during the summer months at selected dates and locations. Make a positive impact and be part of the many volunteers working together to keep Surrey clean and beautiful!

Volunteer with us to care for Surrey’s parks, support vibrant community events, and help deliver engaging programs that connect people with park spaces and each other. From park clean-ups and featured garden maintenance to assisting at signature events and summer park play programs, our volunteers make a meaningful impact in creating welcoming, active, and healthy public spaces.
Garden Work Parties (Ages 16+)
Join our Head Gardeners in the care and maintenance of Surrey's beautiful feature and display gardens. Learn various skills including pruning, weeding, labelling, and more! Everyone is welcome to participate - no experience is required. Tools and training provided.
