Looking to make a positive impact in our community? The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking enthusiastic volunteers for our exciting special events and festivals held throughout the year. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, gain experience, and contribute to the vibrant spirit of Flower Mound. Flower Mound Youth Action Council (FMYAC)

The Flower Mound Youth Action Council (FMYAC) empowers teens to make a lasting impact on their community by addressing key issues affecting youth. As members, students between the ages of 14 to 19 have the opportunity to advise the Town Council and the Parks and Recreation Department on matters important to young residents. Through problem-solving, education, social activities, and service projects, FMYAC members develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills while shaping the future of Flower Mound. Applicants should be active in extracurricular activities and ready to make a difference.

To enhance the quality of life for the residents of Flower Mound by providing parks, nature trails, multi-generational athletic facilities, cultural arts, recreational services, and outstanding customer service.

Special Events

Become a Volunteer at the Gibson-Grant Log House

If you’re looking for a volunteer opportunity, consider applying to be a docent at the Gibson-Grant Log House in Flower Mound! Anyone with a passion for preservation and local history is encouraged to apply. No prior docent experience is needed, and your commitment can be as little as one shift every two months. Training to become a docent at the log house consists of an orientation session and a shadowed shift. Docents must be 18 years or older. Youth Action Council

Make a Difference – Join FMYAC! The Flower Mound Youth Action Council (FMYAC) is looking for passionate and driven students in grades 9-12 who want to represent their peers, advise Town leadership on youth-related issues, and make a positive impact through service projects and events.
