Group Support Volunteer

About the role

As a Group Work Support Volunteer you will be working alongside our Group Facilitators to help our clients engage with and participate in a variety of recovery groups and activities.  

We have a range of group opportunities including our Family and Friends groups and Mutual Aid Partnership (M.A.P) groups and would like for you to help shape the delivery of these sessions to the individuals we support.

 

Location and Time Commitment

  • 35 Boulevard, Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 1PE and community spaces
  • Minimum of 2 hours per week Monday to Friday

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Group Work Facilitator to deliver group sessions

  • Promoting groups that are available in the service

  • Supporting and encouraging individuals to participate in group activities

  • Working with the team to identify individuals who would benefit from group sessions

  • Supporting staff with the preparation and planning of new groups

Administration Support

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and use your administrative skills to support the day-to-day work of the Administration team in our North Somerset service. As part of the team you will provide a warm and friendly welcome to clients and visitors to the service to ensure a good first impression is made.

 

Location and Time Commitment

  • 35 Boulevard, Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 1PE
  • Minimum 4 hours per week

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Supporting the administrative team with their tasks, including scanning, copying and filing

  • Supporting the staff on Reception to help create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for clients and visitors 

  • Supporting with the screening of phone calls to ensure they get to the correct team or most appropriate member of staff

  • Helping to ensure that client information displayed in shared spaces is tidy, current and relevant.

  • Providing basic information and advice on the service offer in North Somerset

  • You may also have the opportunity to attend events in the community to promote our service

Volunteer Counsellor

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to provide counselling for individuals who are directly and indirectly affected by alcohol and substance use. Under the supervision of the Counselling Lead you will help individuals to work through their concerns and assist them with deciding on an appropriate course of action.

To be considered for this role you must have a Counselling qualification - Level 2 or above and be a BACP Member

 

Time Commitment and Location

  • 35 Boulevard, Weston-Super-Mare, BS23 1PE
  • Minimum 2 hours per week

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Undertaking counselling interventions, adhering to With You and BACP guidelines, on a one-to-one basis with clients 

  • Ensuring case notes are taken for each session and recorded in line with We are With You’s policies and procedures

  • Raising any potential safeguarding concerns with appropriate members of staff

  • Attending counselling supervision meetings
