Frisco Environmental Services

Calling All Superheroes for the Environment
The City of Frisco's Environmental Services invites you to be dedicated environmental stewards for our community and our earth! Follow these 4 steps to become a superhero for the environment:

  • Recycle at home, school, work, and on-the-go.
  • Pick-up litter in the community.
  • Walk, bike, carpool, or use public transportation when getting around.
Be a role model by making environmentally conscious decisions!

Environmental Education, Service, and Outreach

The City of Frisco's Environmental Services offers many opportunities for community service, volunteer programs, and educational programs and classes.

  • Are you with a scout troop, service group, church, or school?
  • Are you looking for environmental projects, service projects, or community service hours?
  • Are you looking for opportunities to learn more about the environment, environmentally friendly practices or how you as a citizen of Frisco can help to protect and keep our community clean?

If your answer is yes to any of these, then you are in the right place! Take a look below to see all the different ways you can make an impact on your community and the environment.

Volunteer Opportunities

Teens4Green: Year-Round

Teens4Green is an award-winning, student-run club which strives to improve environmental sustainability. This club actively conducts team projects and promotes environmental awareness in Frisco. This is a group that is deeply concerned about the health and social impacts caused by non-eco-friendly practices. Frisco Environmental Services provides staff supervised service projects for volunteers.

Becoming a Member of Teens4Green
Step 1: Submit a volunteer application for Environmental Services. All volunteers must be 14-18 years old and either residents of Frisco or attend a school in Frisco. Any attendee not registered will not be able to participate in the volunteer event.

Step 2: Visit Teens4Green to subscribe to our mailing list. View our list of upcoming events and RSVP to events via Eventbrite.

Adopt-a-Street: Year-Round

As a part of Keep Frisco Beautiful, Adopt-A-Street is a wonderful opportunity to teach others about citizenship, improve your community, and have a great time! The Adopt-a-Street program provides teams of all kinds: families, clubs, co-workers, and civic organizations, the opportunity to help beautify their community by volunteering to collect litter alongside Frisco streets. It's an easy way for groups to help the community, prevent pollution, and receive recognition for their work. Litter is unsightly and costly to taxpayers. Volunteering for liter pick-up builds community and group pride, visibly improves your local environment, and saves taxpayer money!

How Does Adopt-A-Street Work?
Teams agree to maintain a one mile stretch of roadway (in both directions and the median) for one year. Contracts are automatically renewed for teams in good standing. Teams conduct four (4) cleanups annually (required).

  • 1st quarter cleanup: January 1 to March 31
  • 2nd quarter cleanup: May 1 to June 30
  • If a team participates in Clean It & Green It (spring), Stream Clean (fall) or other community cleanups, this will satisfy the requirement for their quarterly cleanup.
  • 3rd quarter cleanup: July 1 to September 30
  • 4th quarter cleanup: October 1 to December 31
  • Teams that have completed their first year of cleanups that are no longer interested or able to participate in Adopt-A-Street can notify the coordinator to relinquish their adopted street and make it available for a new team.

Current Adopt-A-Street Teams
Adopt-a-Street program is limiting cleanups to 15 persons per cleanup. To request supplies and schedule a cleanup please use the online form. Reporting forms and waivers are attached to your team’s supply bag. Prior to every cleanup, volunteers must sign the liability waiver (those under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign). Within one week of completing a cleanup, teams must return their supplies and Reporting Form (PDF).

One-Time Clean Ups: Year-Round

Recruit friends and family and partake in a one-time clean-up of your neighborhood or community. This is a great alternative to our Adopt-a-Street program. You can still make a great impact on your community with this short-term commitment. For location assignment and to pick up supplies, please complete an online application and then e-mail environmentalservices@friscotexas.gov.

Clean It & Green It - Spring

Households and individuals will be assigned their own cleanup locations. Day of registration will be available. Supply pickup is located at the Environmental Collection Center at 6616 Walnut Street.
