Discovery Center, Heritage Museum, and Cultural Arts Events
Play Frisco’s Cultural Affairs Division is the City of Frisco’s hub for public art, community events, and organizational support for the cultural sector. Cultural Affairs volunteers serve at Frisco Discovery Center’s performance spaces and art galleries and the Frisco Heritage Museum. Most positions have an age requirement of 16 years or older. We do offer a few volunteer opportunities for 15-year-olds during our special events.

Volunteer Opportunities
Docent (Tour Guide) - Frisco Heritage Museum
Schoolhouse Docents give groups of students an experience in the one-room schoolhouse. This job requires an ability to work with and manage groups of children. This volunteer must be able to speak loudly while sharing stories and information with the audience.
Letterpress Docents will share the history of the printing press. They will also demonstrate how a letterpress works. Volunteers will show guests how printing was done at the turn of the 20th century. They will assist groups with printing museum souvenirs as part of this interactive experience.
School Tours Docents will lead school, scout, and other group tours. This position takes place during the workday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This position requires an ability to work with and manage groups of children. This volunteer must be able to speak loudly while conducting tours for large groups and enjoy sharing stories and information with the audience.
