This volunteer role supports the Dental HealthCare Team to ensure that patients attending appointments have a positive experience and are compliant with infection control measures, as well as assisting with admin tasks and supporting staff during the working day.

Volunteers will telephone patients prior to their appointment to confirm/encourage attendance and ask pre-screening questions regarding Covid-19. They will welcome patients attending their appointments, reassuring those who may feel apprehensive. Once the patient has had their appointment, volunteers will encourage and help patients to complete the Friends and Family Questionnaires. They may also support the team with general admin tasks.

This is a fulfilling role where you can meet new people, gain experience of an NHS environment, help patients in a clinical setting and learn new skills along the way.

If you’re over 18 years of age, feel passionate about providing a high level of customer care, and you’re able to:

• commit to 3.5 hours per week (9-12.30pm or 12.30-4pm), with the option for more hours if desired
• commit to 6 months of volunteering

Physiotherapy focuses on restoring movement and strength, and reducing pain from musculoskeletal problems or post-surgery. Our DynamicHealth service supports people aged 16 years and over living with or experiencing problems with muscles, nerves, and joints. These are known as musculoskeletal (MSK) problems. DynamicHealth also provides MSK occupational health services and pelvic health physiotherapy. 

This volunteer role will support the DynamicHealth Team by telephoning patients that have attended appointments and classes, to gain feedback about their experience, and signposting them to relevant community activities to support their recovery. Volunteers will also assist the team with admin tasks such as stock-taking and stock replenishment, equipment/audit checks (i.e. monitoring fridge temperatures, handwashing & cleaning audits), creating displays in the reception area, preparing leaflet packs and photocopying. 

This is a new volunteer role, and we are seeking volunteers for each of our physiotherapy sites. We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 6 months of volunteering of 3.5 hours per week (choice of morning, afternoon, and all day shifts), with the option for more hours if desired.

If you’re over 16 years of age, have an interest in gaining experience within the NHS, and have good IT skills, then we would encourage you to apply!
