Volunteering Opportunities

Bedfordshire Breastfeeding Buddy

Our Bedfordshire Breastfeeding Buddies have all breastfed/chestfed their own babies and provide valuable emotional and practical infant feeding support to parents, either face to face, via telephone or via virtual groups. It is a rewarding role where you can volunteer for a cause you feel passionately about, give back to your community and learn new skills along the way.

Our volunteers empower parents to reach their own infant feeding goals, and need to be able to listen, empathise and support others in a sensitive and non-judgemental way.

We ask volunteers to commit to a minimum of 6 months volunteering, for at least 2-3 hours twice a month, with the option for more hours if desired.

You will need to attend our Breastfeeding Management & Relationship Building course and complete practical elements and an assessment as part of the training programme. Ongoing training & support is provided throughout your volunteering experience.

If you are over 18 years of age, have breastfed/chestfed your own child for a minimum of three months and can demonstrate a positive attitude towards infant feeding, then we would encourage you to apply!

These roles are located within Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire.

Please read the Breastfeeding Buddy Role Description before applying.
