Let's Read! - Library Reading Tutors
Hennepin County Library is looking for Reading Tutor Volunteers to help with local youth. Let's Read! is continuing to grow and as we move into Fall 2026 sessions.
Inspire elementary students to become lifelong readers and directly help in reducing disparities. Provide one-on-one literacy tutoring with youth grades K-5. We provide an easy-to-follow curriculum that includes all the materials to teach an effective lesson. No teaching experience required. A commitment of one two-hour shift per week is standard. A criminal background check and references are required.
Participating Libraries in need of Volunteers:
- Brookdale Library: Mondays or Tuesdays 4:30pm - 6:30pm or 5:30pm to 7:30pm
- Brooklyn Park Library: Wednesdays or Thursdays 4pm - 6pm or 5:30pm to 7:30pm
- Cedar Riverside Opportunity Center: Thursdays 4pm to 6pm
- Franklin Library: Tuesdays, Thursdays 4pm - 6pm, or 5:30pm - 7:30pm
- North Regional Library: Mondays or Tuesdays 4pm - 6pm or 5pm - 7pm
- Oxboro Library: Tuesday or Wednesday 5pm - 7pm or Saturday 10am - Noon
- Pierre Bottineau Library: Thursdays 4pm to 6pm or 5pm – 7pm
- Rockford Road Library: Wednesdays or Thursdays 4:30pm to 6:30pm or 5:30pm to 7:30pm
- Sumner Library: Mondays or Thursdays 4pm - 6pm or 5pm to 7pm
