We are currently looking for volunteers for Homework Help for 2026!
Do you like working with kids? Hennepin County Library is looking for volunteers to work with K-12 youth after school on homework-related projects. Volunteers support students' academic success by helping them develop literacy and mathematics skills, understand homework assignments, and prepare for college. Volunteers work once a week for at least one semester. Experience with youth is helpful. Training is provided. A criminal background check and references are required. A commitment of one two-hour shift per week is standard.
Participating Libraries in need of Volunteers:
- Brookdale Library: Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm
- East Lake Library: Mondays 5:30pm-7:30pm, Tuesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm, or 5:30pm-7:30pm, Wednesdays 4:30pm-6:30pm
- Franklin Library: Tuesdays 5:30pm-7:30pm
- Hosmer Library: Sundays, Noon to 2pm or 1pm to 3pm
- Northeast Library: Thursdays 5pm - 7:30pm
- North Regional Library: Mondays 4pm - 6pm
