Position Title: Server
Volunteer Type: In-person
Location: 3333 Finch Ave East – Terrace Restaurant
Hours of Work: Monday – Saturday 10am – 2pm OR 4pm – 7pm
Time Commitment: 1 day a week every week for 3 months
Volunteers Needed: 12
Reports to: Cook Manager
Position Summary: Server is responsible for bringing food and beverages to dine-in customers seated in their section at the restaurant. Their duties include writing down each customer's order, submitting it to the kitchen and bringing out the correct dishes and beverages to each diner.
Position Requirements:

Volunteers can work on any day from Monday to Saturday.

Volunteers must commit to one day a week, weekly shifts for a minimum of three months.

Each shift is 4 hours, with available times: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM or 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service.
-
Greet customers and present menus.
-
Make suggestions based on their preferences.

Take and serve food/drinks orders.

Up-sell when appropriate.

Arrange table settings.
-
Keep tables clean and area and tidy at all times

Bring dirty dishes to dishwashing area

Fill condiments as needed

Polish cutlery
-
Set up and take down party room when special events happen

Floating around and helping other staff at the front of the house
Skills & Qualifications:

Client focus, flexibility, Initiative, Organized, Reliable, Team Player

Work language –Chinese/Cantonese would be an asset
Working Environment:

Will be working in a restaurant environment

Will be standing and walking for long periods on time

Will be required to serve meals on hot plates
Orientation/Training:
-
Volunteer Services will conduct orientation on organization’s policies and procedures, including COVID-19 measures.

IPAC Mandatory training for onsite positions

Organizational Training for new volunteers
-
Food Handler’s certification would be a great asset to have
Other:

Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening required.

Proof of full vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate
