Stockroom Volunteer

A person handing a plastic bag to a customer

Volunteering with us is easy, flexible, and inclusive. If you can spare a few hours a week, or a couple of hours occasionally, we’d love you to join our volunteer team.

If you’d like to make a difference behind the scenes, if you’re a keen rummager or if you like things to be neat and tidy, then we have a role for you, helping in Your Local Air Ambulanceshop stock room. If you love a bit of ironing, then master the clothes steamer and watch those wrinkles disappear (it’s surprisingly therapeutic!), or become a clothes tagger extraordinaire, allowing customers to understand what item they are purchasing. If you want a hands-on volunteer role behind the scenes or just fancy the company of other friendly volunteers our shop stock room is the place to be.

Just so you know, we are unable to accept volunteers aged under 16 or anyone with unspent criminal convictions. Please note this is an unpaid voluntary position in a friendly charity shop.

Typical tasks include:

  • Preparing donated items for sale
  • Using a clothes steamer
  • Attaching labels and tags to donated items ready for sale
  • Identifying unsaleable donations for recycling
  • Keeping the sorting room organised and tidy

Application deadline - Ongoing

Informal chat - After you have applied, the shop manager will contact you to arrange a time to chat about volunteering, which could also include a taster session

Start date - After your chat with the manager and once on-boarding has been completed, we will work with you to agree a start date
