Gardening - social support
The role of the volunteer gardener is vital in creating a safe and welcoming outdoor area for the residents in our residential facilities. Volunteers are encouraged to interact with our residents and provide a social support provide social interaction to residents while on site.
Main Tasks:
- Maintain gardens by using hand tools, this can include pruning, raking, weeding, planting and mulching. Volunteers will not be using power tools or pesticides.
- Liaise and follow directions from staff
Personal Qualities & Skills:
- Be reliable, flexible, and committed
- Have ‘green fingers’ or passion for gardening
- A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
- Alignment with RSL LifeCare values and willingness to follow policies and procedures
