The role of the Veteran Activity & Program Support Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection, and community for veterans. Volunteers support staff in delivering daily activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.
Main Tasks:
- Support staff in delivering daily activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing
- Provide social support to veterans
- Establish positive connections and support veterans on their journey to recovery
- Facilitate different activities, these could include fishing, golfing, kayaking, and many others
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Regularly communicate with the staff and report any concerns immediately
Personal Qualities & Skills:
- Have patience, kindness, and empathy
- Ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
- Be reliable, flexible and committed
- A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
