Spur Equine Program Support Volunteer

The role of the Veteran Activity & Program Support Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection, and community for veterans. Volunteers support staff in delivering daily activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.  

Main Tasks: 

  • Support staff in delivering daily activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing
  • Provide social support to veterans
  • Establish positive connections and support veterans on their journey to recovery
  • Facilitate different activities, these could include fishing, golfing, kayaking, and many others
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Regularly communicate with the staff and report any concerns immediately

 

Personal Qualities & Skills:

  • Have patience, kindness, and empathy
  • Ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
  • Be reliable, flexible and committed
  • A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
