Tea Gardens Village Buggy Driver

The role of the Volunteer Buggy Driver is vital in creating a sense of connection and community for our residents. The volunteer will be responsible for driving the RSL LifeCare golf buggy within the retirement village for the purpose of assisting our residents to attend variety of events. 

Main Tasks: 

  • Collect residents from the specified pick-up point and drive them to the specified venue within the village at a prescribed time. 
  • Drive residents back to site after the outing
  • Ensure that all road and parking rules are obeyed and that passengers alight in a safe area
  • Communicate with RSL LifeCare staff to discuss volunteering visits and report any issues that may arise  

Personal Qualities & Skills:

  • Show patience, kindness and empathy for all passengers
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
  • Be reliable and committed
  • Hold current Class C driver licence and a good driving record
  • Have sound knowledge of road rules
  • Be familiar with the geographic region in which they are driving
  • Alignment with RSL LifeCare values and willingness to follow policies and procedures
