Homes for Heroes, Narrabeen - Veteran Activity Support Volunteer
Role Purpose:
- The role of the Veteran Activity Support Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection, and community for our veterans at Homes for Heroes Service in Narrabeen. Volunteers support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans’ wellbeing.
Time Commitment:
- Regular and long-term commitment
- Days / times can be mutually agreed and flexible
Background Checks:
- NDIS Worker Check and character reference
Main Tasks:
- Support staff in delivering activities that enhance veterans' wellbeing.
- You may support with activities such as cooking, fishing, golfing, movies, BBQs, etc.
- Establish positive connections and support veterans on their journey to recovery
- Social interaction and support through activities
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Communicate with RSL LifeCare staff to discuss volunteering visits and report any issues that may arise

- Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
- Be reliable, flexible and committed
- Have patience, kindness and empathy
- A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
