Op Shop Volunteer
RSL ANZAC Village Op Shop is a community-driven store exclusively run by volunteers. Proceeds from every purchase made at our shop go directly to the Monty Committee which supports local initiatives such as purchasing exercise equipment for the village's TLC Centre or various equipment for seniors in the Residential Care. Our shop is a place where bargains meet purpose, and we need your help to ensure it continues to run smoothly. By volunteering with us, you’ll be helping our cause while also having fun, meeting new people, and giving back to your community. As an Op Shop Volunteer, you’ll be part of a dynamic and friendly team, helping to manage the daily operations of our store. From assisting customers and sorting donations to arranging displays and keeping the shop tidy, your time will make a real difference to our customers, our team, and the community we serve.
Main Tasks
- Customer service: greet customers with a smile, assist with their purchases, and offer a friendly shopping experience.
- Sorting donations: sort through clothing, books, toys, and other donations, ensuring items are in good condition and ready for sale.
- Stocking and displaying items: organize and arrange items on the shop floor, creating attractive displays that encourage sales.
- Pricing items: help with pricing items in accordance with store guidelines.
- Tidy and maintain the shop: keep shelves and racks neat, clean, and organized to create a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience.
- Cash handling: assist with operating the cash register, processing transactions, and handling money (if you’re comfortable with this)

- Have excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to make personal connections with senior people, their families, volunteers and staff regardless of cultural backgrounds, beliefs and denominations
