Pastoral Care Volunteer
The role of the Pastoral Care Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of wellbeing, connection and community in our Residential Facilities or Retirement Villages.
Main Tasks:
- Provide effective, person-centred, spiritual, and pastoral care to staff, volunteers, residents, and their families. The support offered is irrespective of cultural background or denomination.
- Regularly visit the facilities, chat to residents, and offer social support
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Communicate any concerns, issues, accident with the chaplain and staff immediately
Personal Qualities & Skills:
- Have patience, kindness, and empathy for mature aged people
- Have good interpersonal skills and ability and willingness to develop these further
- Be able to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
- Be reliable, flexible, and committed
- A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
- Alignment with the values of RSL LifeCare and willingness to follow WH&S procedures outlines in the Volunteer Handbook
