Trip Companion

The role of the Trip Companion Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of connection and community for our residents.

Main Tasks: 

  • Providing support during the bus outings, assisting residents, talking to them, building connections
  • Remind residents  to fasten their seat belts and offer support if appropriate
  • Assist frail residents on and off bus if appropriate
  • Following instruction from staff and manual handling guidance

Personal Qualities & Skills:

  • Have patience, kindness and empathy for mature aged people
  • Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
  • Be reliable, flexible and committed
  • A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
  • Alignment with RSL LifeCare values and willingness to follow policies and procedures
