Activity Facilitator

Looking to be part of a great team, make new connections, and contribute to a fantastic experience? We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help create and lead engaging and enjoyable activities for veterans in the Queanbeyan Veteran and Family Hub. This is a great opportunity to give back to those who have served our country, while contributing to their well-being and social connections. You could be leading a walking group, running an IT literacy or cooking class. 

Key responsibilities 

  • Facilitate free activities for veterans and their families that are safe, fun and engaging and have been assessed, planned and approved by the Hub Manager
  • Provide honest information regarding your capabilities and qualifications to facilitate activities
  • Declare any conflicts of interest (real or perceived) to the Hub Manager prior to facilitating all activities
  • Follow direction and advice from staff
  • Attend the Hub as agreed with staff and communicate absence
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Communicate with RSL LifeCare staff to discuss volunteering and report any concerns, issues, accidents and near misses to the Hub Manager immediately. 
  • Abide by the Volunteer Code of Conduct, always follow the procedures and attend the training sessions as required

  • Ability to make personal connections with staff, volunteers, veterans and their families regardless of cultural backgrounds, identity, beliefs and denominations.
