Trip Companion
The role of the Trip Companion Volunteer is vital in creating a sense of connection and community for our residents.
Main Tasks:
- Providing support during the bus outings, assisting residents, talking to them, building connections
- Remind residents to fasten their seat belts and offer support if appropriate
- Assist frail residents on and off bus if appropriate
- Following instruction from staff and manual handling guidance
Personal Qualities & Skills:
- Have patience, kindness and empathy for mature aged people
- Great interpersonal skills and ability to make personal connections with people from different backgrounds
- Be reliable, flexible and committed
- A desire to make a positive difference in someone’s life
- Alignment with RSL LifeCare values and willingness to follow policies and procedures
