North East Community House

Program Support Volunteer

North East Community House Inc. is seeking volunteers to prepare and serve toasted cheese sandwiches to the general public.

Duties will include keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic, purchasing supplies with use of petty cash, preparing cheese toasties and tea/coffee, serving food/drink to the public, washing dishes, keeping attendance records and engaging in conversation with members of the public.

This weekly (during school terms only) program provides opportunity for social connection through the provision of a free snack and tea/coffee. It has been designed for those in our community experiencing disadvantage or social isolation but is open to all community members. Before the end of this year we hope to transform this program into a collaborative community lunch providing a nutritious meal in a sit down, family style environment. Food handling course is essential. We can help arrange this training at no cost if required.

Days and times: Tuesday, 9 am to 2 pm
