Shop Assistant

Days: Monday to Friday negotiable

Hours: 8:45 am  to 3:45 pm

BASIC FUNCTION:

To provide courteous and efficient customer service.

To maintain accurate shop records.

To make accurate statistical records of client contacts in the shops.

To maintain an orderly and well presented shop.

To follow all shop procedures

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Customer Service skills
  • Empathy towards clients and fellow volunteers.
  • Possess and demonstrate a positive and team orientated attitude.
  • Follow relevant Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To give courteous and efficient service to customers.
  • To keep accurate records for lay-by, sales receipts, statistical record sheets and hold items as directed by the Duty Officer.
  • To assist with pricing and sorting of stock and any discounting items to be checked with D/Officer
  • To keep the shop in an orderly and clean state of presentation.
  • To maintain strict confidentiality, involving clients, customers and other volunteer staff.
  • To notify the Duty Officer immediately of any personal injury.
  • Promote a positive image of NECAP to colleagues and the public at all times.
  • Follow relevant Work Health and Safety directives.
  • To follow all directions from Duty Officer on the day
