Activity Assistants - General

 

Nb  - proof of flu vaccination is required for all volunteers

Volunteers must be up to date with COVID vaccinations, ie double vaccinated plus booster

 

 

Helping Hand Aged Care at Ingle Farm is currently seeking enthusiastic Activity Assistants to join their wonderful volunteer team within the Lifestyle program.

 

Volunteers must be punctual and reliable, have a friendly, positive attitude towards other team members & must enjoy working with the elderly, frail and cognitive impaired.

 

 HOURS:   We have roles to fill 9.30 am – 3.00 pm                                                                                                                

 Responsibilities, duties & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

      • Must be able to maintain privacy and confidentiality
      • Assist in preparation, set up/pack up and participate in various activities
      • When required, collect residents to attend functions
      • Check equipment, supply needs & ensure materials are ready for the activities
      • Participate/assist with lifestyle activities – e.g. walking groups, art, craft, bingo, board games, reading, music, group social functions and 1:1
      • Carry out duties as required and be able to work alongside others
      • Comfortable interacting with residents -  great listening and conversation skills, able to make people feel good about themselves and put a smile on their faces

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: 

      • Must be prepared to undertake mandatory training as required including wheelchair training (no lift policy)
      • Adhere to WHS requirements, Helping Hand procedure & policies
      • Must have or be willing to apply for a National Police Clearance (no cost)
