Community Visitor Scheme - Various suburbs
We are looking for volunteers to regularly visit an older person living in their own home or visit with a small group of residents living in an aged care facility who have little contact with family or friends.
If you are a good listener, love to have a chat and would like to spread a little happiness we would like to hear from you. Volunteers visit usually within a 10 km radius of their home.
Volunteers also support residents in activities such as listening to and sharing experiences and stories. Reading, playing cards or games, doing craft together.
Times to suit resident and volunteer, duration about 1 - 1.5 hours each visit
Requirements
- Good listening skills
- Ability to engage with others
- Current Police check
- Able to attend occasional training
