Kitchen / Emergency Relief team member

Volunteers required to provide and/or coordinate first response emergency relief

Days and times:  Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays - 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Centrelink requirements can be met.


  • Assist with the packing, sorting and distribution of food relief to people in need.
  • Provide practical support and assistance to clients in crisis.
  • Assess the needs of the clients that help to provide practical and meaningful outcomes.
  • Provide a welcoming, supportive and respectful service for those individuals and families seeking help.
  • Record client information and assit with the reporting of new and emerging trends
    Maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times

Additional requirements:

  • Applicants with community service / social justice experience are highly desirable
  • Food safety training is required
  • Food handling and helping to take delivery of food relief is essential
  • A good level of fitness is required as the emergency relief centre is very busy 
  • National Police Check 
  • DHS Screening Clearance 
  • Working with Children Check
