Patient Support Volunteer Role

 

About the roles

Patient support volunteers play an important role in enhancing the service delivered at Calvary Hospitals. Duties may include welcoming patients and visitors, providing social support to patients, providing refreshments, answering ward call bells, restocking supplies in patient rooms, menu and mealtime assistance, running errands, basic administration tasks and escorting visitors and mobile patients around the hospital.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow instructions and undertake duties with minimal supervision
  • The intention to commit to volunteering for a 4 hour shift per week, for at least 12 months

  • Shortlisted candidates will be asked to attend an interview and if successful, you will attend a Calvary and Hospital orientation session prior to commencing in the role.
  • Successful applicants will have a police clearance and a Working with Children Check initiated by Calvary at no cost to the volunteer.
