Bush for Life Bushcarer

Help native plants naturally regenerate by removing weeds competing for land, food & water

Days:  Monday to Saturday, negotiable.

Time:  9:00am to 3:30pm

Centrelink obligations can be met

Volunteers use minimal disturbance bushcare techniques to reduce the threat that environmental weeds place on South Australia's native bushland. We have a number of bushland sites across the northern areas (can range anywhere between Clare, Halbury, Willaston, Penfield and Elizabeth). We offer ongoing training and support to our volunteers. All activities are suitable for anyone who is in general good health. There is no heavy work, but there is bending and squatting involved as well as walking short distances to some sites over uneven ground.

You can choose to either participate in our Bush Action Teams and work with a team of volunteers and 2 experienced staff across a range of sites, or choose to adopt-a-site and work at your own pace to assist in restoring it to a more healthy ecosystem. Bush Action Teams run from 9am 3.30pm on site. We provide transport from our Brooklyn Park Office with designated pick up points along the way, or you can meet us on site. No prior skills or knowledge required. Training and equipment provided on the day. Contact us for our current schedule of Bush Action Teams. You will need to attend a bushcare workshop if wanting to adopt-a-site
