Transport Volunteer
Department for Correctional Services are looking for transport/driver volunteers.
As a Transport Volunteer, you will mentor and provide practical support to assist offenders in the community to attend appointments, rehab programs and prison releases.
Volunteers support prisoners and offenders in the community by transporting them to medical appointments, job interviews & job network agencies, rehabilitation programs, supervision appointments and housing appointments, plus many other areas of support unique to individual offenders.
This role is rewarding and important for the reintegration of prisoners back into the community, supporting stable home lives and contributing to the lower rates of re-offending and social isolation.
Government vehicles will be provided for volunteers to use in this role.
Days and times are Monday to Friday, negotiable
Requirements:

* Non-judgmental
* Ability and willingness to work with offenders in the community
* Ability to work with diverse groups
All volunteers will be required to attend an Orientation as part of the recruitment process.
