Womens Information Service Safety Hub Volunteer - The Haven - Gawler Community House

Liaise with and support women that attend The Haven - Women's Information Service (WIS) outreach service located at the Gawler Community House with an understanding of the position of women in today's society, ie the social, cultural, economic and personal issues that may affect women in their daily lives and respond to women from a range of backgrounds and life experiences. The Haven (WIS) Gawler Community House is open 10.00am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday and is a free and confidential service that provides information and referrals to local women who may need assistance with domestic and family violence, family and relationships, education and training, health and wellbeing, housing and accommodation options, financial matters, or any situation they may need support and assistance in dealing with. Volunteers service The Haven at the above times along with the WIS Site Supervisor. Basic computer skills are required along with high level negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal. All volunteers must be willing to learn and undertake the WIS volunteer training program and mentor shifts.  The Haven volunteering program offers comprehensive training, mentoring and support.  It's a great way to share and learn new skills, meet passionate and like-minded people, and build connections in the community.
