Op Shop - Retail Assistant

The Gawler Community House relies on the Op Shop for much needed income to support its operations. Op Shop volunteers operate under the direction of the Manager/Volunteer Coordinator.

General Duties: 

  • Open the shop and set up according to the procedure
  • Customer Service
  • Retail Sales
  • Operate Cash Register, Eftpos transactions, Cash Handling
  • Display clothing and other goods
  • Assist with dressing room protocols
  • Greet customers in a friendly manner and assist them with their requirements
  • Promote activities and events of the Community House

Other Duties:

  • Attend meetings as required
  • Attend relevant training as required

  • Excellent oral and written communications, customer service skills
  • Cash handling skills
  • Honesty and trustworthiness
  • Able to follow instructions
  • Work unsupervised or as part of a team
  • A pleasant non-judgmental and empathetic manner
  • Ability to interact appropriately with a diverse range of clients
  • Flexible and quick thinking - able to prioritise tasks
  • Appropriate dress, language and behaviour.

Shifts Currently Available:   

Mondays 8.45am - 4.15pm - Thursdays - 8.45am - 4.15pm  -  Saturdays - 09.45am - 1.15pm
