Workshop Handyperson - ReStore

Do you enjoy the smell of freshly cut timber? Would you like to tap your creative side and turn your hand to making, eg a bird box for someone's garden, or a Christmas decoration for someone's front door? Or maybe you'd like to make minor repairs to a piece of furniture that comes into ReStore needing a little bit of love and attention. If so, come and volunteer at ReStore, our 'Op Shop for building materials and furniture' - 102 Port Road, Alberton.

Open Mon-Sat 9am-4pm - days are negotiable and Centrelink requirements can be met.

As a Workshop Handyperson you will be:

  • * Repairing broken items
  • * Replacing missing furniture parts
  • * Sanding and re-staining/re-painting worn/faded furniture
  • * Creating and building items for sale from recycled materials
  • * Carrying out simple maintenance tasks around the shop and warehouse.

By supporting ReStore, you are helping Habitat for Humanity fulfil its vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Basic handyman skills and knowledge of tools and workshop practice. Some background or experience would be beneficial.

Requirements:

  • National Police Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
