Lunch Club Volunteer

Lunch Club Volunteers support older residents to attend and participate in the Lunch Club, ensuring that they can continue to participate in activities that connect them to their community and enables them to have meaningful social connections

The Lunch Club is held fortnightly on a Monday, where together, the group visit a range of venues within Gawler.

A volunteer may assist by:

  • Assisting in the coordination and facilitation of activities and outings
  • Provide transport to and from the activity
  • Provide assistance with mobility, when required (eg. supporting someone to get into and mobilise around venues)
  • Providing and encouraging companionship and support amongst the members

Social Support Companions require a National Police Clearance (dated less than three years from its release date).  Staff can help arrange this, at no cost to the volunteer, if required.

This roles requires someone who can commit to a regular ongoing fortnightly commitment.

Reimbursement is available for approved out of pocket expenses.
