Companionship & Patient Visits- Northland
Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care is in need of compassionate people to volunteer with patients living in the long-term-care setting. Once screened and trained, volunteers are matched with patients for weekly companionship/friendly visits.
At this time our volunteer orientation for most roles is through a self-paced, all-digital format.
Volunteer interviews may be conducted virtually or in person, but there will be an opportunity to visit and get to know your volunteer coordinator during the onboarding process.
Also, at this time we can only accept applicants who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Proof will be required.
-Virtual volunteer training (approximately 12 hours of self-guided volunteer training)
-KC Hospice volunteer onboarding powerpoint (1 hr)
-TB skin test (provided by KC Hospice at either Meritas Health or KU Medical Center)
-Series of background checks
-Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
-Additional KCH&PC paperwork (i.e. volunteer agreement)
-Interview with a volunteer coordinator
-Job-specific training as needed
If you have any questions about any of the information above, please contact Melissa Basgall, Manager of Volunteer Services, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Otherwise, please complete the application and the volunteer coordinator associated with the volunteer job opening will be in touch shortly with next steps.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care.
