Internship description: The internship will help undergraduate engineering students to be prepare them for real world.  The intern is needed to provide student level work to support the Public Utilities Department/Water Distribution Division. Under the guidance of professional staff, the intern will assist with researching engineering plans, conducting field investigations, utilizing GIS applications, Microsoft Office software, and other administrative tasks. These tasks are limited in scope and duration and will not take work away from any budgeted permanent employees, nor will it delay or eliminate the need to fill budgeted permanent vacancies in the section. The internship appointment will be for up to 12 months in duration. The intern will work an average of 20 hours per week. Typically, up to 20 hours per week while school is in session and up to 40 hours per week during school breaks.  Goal to assist professional engineers in reviewing water system plans and field investigation, with a minimum two plans per week with field investigation.
