Internship description: This position will assist the Open Space Natural Resource Team in conducting the annual rare plant monitoring and vernal pool covered species monitoring as required by the City of San Diego's Multiple Species Conservation Program Subarea Plan (R-288455) and the Vernal Pool Habitat Conservation Plan (R-311503).  The intern will be trained in scientific field data collection methods for plants and wildlife, data management, and analysis.  In addition, the intern will learn both mobile and desktop GIS and be introduced to regional conservation agencies and associated career opportunities.
