How you will contribute as part of the YRNC Volunteer team:
As a YRNC volunteer you will be assisting staff with the delivery of nature-based programming for families, children and educators, helping to build strong connections with nature from an early age. Events include a Family Adventure Walk in the Forest, a multi-day conference for educators, other professional development and more.
What you will do as a volunteer:
- Assist with the set-up and take-down of event equipment
- Great participants, collect registration information, and answer questions regarding the event or program
- Engage event participants in interactive activities at events
- Adhere to all TRCA safety policies and procedures
What will you need to succeed:
- Passion for and interest in engaging children in the outdoors and nature-based play
- Comfortable working in an outdoor setting
- Experience working with children is an asset
- Familiarity with YRNC and its programs is an asset
- Must be at least 14 years old
- Please be advised that successful volunteers may be required to undergo a vulnerable sector screening, with the cost incurred by the volunteer
