Volunteer- Turtle Nest Monitoring in Brampton
Volunteer Role Details:

Duration: April 2025 - November 2025
Volunteer Hours: no set schedule, monitoring takes place any day of the week before dusk
Work Location(s): Brampton - Loafer's Lake, Etobicoke Creek Trail, Donnelly Park
Division: Restoration and Infrastructure
How you will contribute as part of the TRCA Volunteer team:
Volunteering for this opportunity, you will play a critical role in collecting data on wildlife sightings and install nest protectors as required to protect turtle nests.
What you will do as a volunteer:
- Search for turtles and nesting activity
- Install nest protectors on observed or suspected nesting sites
- Collect data on collisions/mortality rates of amphibians and reptiles along the trails and paths at identified locations in Brampton
- Record observations using Survey 123 app
What will you need to succeed:
- A cellphone
- Comfortable using apps
- Amphibian and reptile identification skills helpful, not required
