Volunteer- Donnelly East Park Road Ecology Monitoring (Brampton)

Volunteer Role Details:

Please note this opportunity takes place only in Brampton, ON and requires attendance at the MANDATORY training session.

Duration: April 2026 - November 2026

Volunteer Hours:  2 - 6 hours per week

Division: Restoration and Infrastructure

How you will contribute as part of the TRCA Volunteer team:

Volunteering for this opportunity, you will play a critical role in collecting data on wildlife sightings, recording wildlife vehicle collisions, assessing the potential for wildlife exclusion infrastructure, and installing nest protectors as required to protect turtle nests.  

What you will do as a volunteer: 

  • Collect data on collisions/mortality rates of wildlife.
  • Search for turtles and nesting activity.
  • Install nest protectors on observed or suspected nesting sites in permitted areas.
  • Record observations using Survey 123 app.

What will you need to succeed:

  • Attend a MANDATORY orientation session
  • A cellphone
  • Comfortable using apps
  • Amphibian and reptile identification skills helpful, not required
  • Willingness to learn
