How you will contribute as part of the TRCA Volunteer team:
As a volunteer in the Livestock Department at The Village at Black Creek, you will assist with the care of our heritage breed animals and support day-to-day farm activities. While you will contribute to tasks such as seeping, watering, and cleaning enclosures. Volunteers work under staff guidance and may have responsibilities adjusted based on experience, training, and program needs.
What you will do as a volunteer:
- Assist with basic daily animal care routines;
- Assist with cleaning animal enclosures; and
- Adhere to all TRCA safety policies and procedures
What will you need to succeed:
- Demonstrates basic-level knowledge of livestock animals and their typical care regimens
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to work outdoors
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- The ability to follow detailed instructions
