Spring Clean

Spring Clean Volunteers

Every year Waltham Forest’s residents team up to take part in Spring Clean events across the borough. Faith, resident and youth groups as well as individuals and schools are encouraged to organise litter picking event where it’s most needed in their local area with the Council supporting it by providing litter pickers and litter bags which are picked up by the Council`s street cleansing provider. 20 tonnes of waste have been collected over the last 6 years.

As well as litter picking, volunteers are also provided with bulbs to plant, paint to clean up railings and street furniture and graffiti kits in order to further beautify their areas.

If you have civic pride and like the sound of getting together with your friends, neighbours, schools, places of worship and interest groups to beautify your area with the ongoing support of the Council, then sign up and be part of the 3000 volunteers who take part in our annual Spring Clean.
