Certified CPR & First Aid Instructor/Trainer

Bring your expertise and experience to the Professional Development department to enhance the skills of Catholic Charities’ staff!   


The Professional Development Department organizes trainings and orientations for Catholic Charities employees. The volunteer will train Catholic Charities staff to administer CPR and First Aid.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Certified CPR Trainer will deliver CPR training onsite at CCADW; 1-2 scheduled classes per month, M-F, 9-5
  • The volunteer will assist Catholic Charities employees to become CPR and First Aid Certified. 


  • Certified CPR instructor (certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute, e.g.)
  • All in-person volunteers must submit proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 

Desired Skills, Experience & Characteristics:  

  • Outgoing personality
  • One year experience training others in CPR and First Aid methods, preferred
  • Preferred American Safety and Health Institute Certified CPR and FA Instructor

Volunteer Benefits:

Support:  CCADW will cover the costs for attaining ASHI certification, as needed 

Time Commitment:

  • During business hours (M-F, 9-5)
  • Minimum 6 hours per month

COVID-19 Safety Procedures:

  • Per COVID-19 Screening Protocol, individuals complete the Go-Evo App for COVID-19 screening. Individuals must show the Green Pass from the app to the security guard at the front desk. Following admission from the security guard, individual must physically sign in at the front desk. 
  • If volunteer cannot download the Go-Evo App, then they must complete the COVID-19 screening as a visitor at the front desk. They will sign in and have their temperature taken.  
  • The Health Safety Monitor is located at the front desk.

  • Sept. 15: Fill out an application. 
  • Sept. 8 – Sept. 24: Matching Expectations conversation with Catholic Charities staff. 
  • Oct. 1: Find out if you’ve been selected for the role.
  • Oct. 1 – Oct. 22: Attend virtual Volunteer Orientation and complete screenings. 
  • Late October: Begin volunteering!
