Youth Panel

Calling all young people aged 16-24!

If you’re interested in museums, the RAF or simply making a difference, we would love to have you on board as part of our Youth Panel.

The Youth Panel allows us to hear from you about what you want from our Museum and will allow you to contribute to improving the visitor experience for other young people.

Some of the kinds of activities that you can get involved in may include:

  • Helping the Museum to test new ideas
  • Putting on your own exhibition
  • Running events for other young people
  • Finding out about what goes on in a Museum
  • Finding out more about the history and role of the RAF

The Youth Panel have 3 meetings a year and a week in residence during the summer holidays to take on a project which will include the production of an exhibition display.

The next meeting will be on Saturday 6 April, starting at 11:15 for potential new members of the panel. The meeting will include lunch (pizza) and you will be reimbursed your travel expenses up to £10 in line with our policy.

The meeting schedule for this year is as follows:

  • Saturday 6 April - Easter Meeting
  • Saturday 6 July – Summer Meeting
  • 5-9 August – Exhibition Development Week

As a member of the Youth Panel we will register you as a full volunteer for the RAF Museum which will enable you to take part in other available volunteering opportunities.

The meetings will generally take place 11.30am to 1.30pm on Saturdays. Advance notice of dates is provided.

Travel and food expenses will be reimbursed up to £10 per day, in line with our policy.
