Long-Term Care Residential Centres / Centres d'hébergements

Volunteers assist the care staff during resident mealtimes.  Depending on the need, this can include encouraging and guiding a resident to self-feed with minimal assistance and verbal cues, or may include the physical act of feeding a resident who needs such assistance.  This is done under the guidance and supervision of Nursing care staff and specific training is provided.
